Monkey Tail Cafe, Pantai Indah Kapuk

A new cafe is in town and boy, I am loving this place. Last Sunday, me and the boys of @dailyfoodseeker went to this cafe called Monkey Tail Cafe which is located in the vicinity of Pantai Indah Kapuk. We tasted some of their brunch menus and we agreed that this cafe is worth to visit. Scroll down below to know why!

This cafe just had its soft opening around last week, so yeah it's still fresh from the oven. The place is comfy although I didn't pretty much like the unevenly-distributed-aircon. If you are a OOTD maniac, you'll love this place. It has that moody ambiance that will surely be great for any snapshots to put in your social media feed. The walls were made with an unfinished concrete wall theme, keeping the color palette to a minimum of grey and brown for the entire ambiance. It's a two floor cafe and you can find the smoking room secluded from the dining area, located in the second floor. The cafe is nicely furnished and it's so cozy too.

The other great thing is that this cafe served choices of coffee using Giyanti coffee beans. The best coffee bean in my opinion, thus making this cafe to be more lovable for coffee lovers.
So what are the brunch menus I tried that day? Let's start the review!

Egg Benedict - IDR 50K

Toast of English muffin with poach egg, smoked beef, and hollandaise sauce.

Kickstarted our brunch with this dish. This one was extra gorgeous. The hollandaise sauce was delicious and I really do love the consistency of the sauce. The egg is poached beautifully. The smoked beef also tasted good. The English muffin was nice, although it would be great if it was a bit crispier, just to give the dish another interesting texture. The spinach I think could be good with a bit more salt. Yet again, the focus of the dish is certainly the egg, and that part was executed briliantly.

Brioche Scrambled Egg Smoked Salmon - IDR 60K

Our second dish was not disappointing as well. The scrambled egg was tasty and creamy. It is just seasoned perfectly. The smoked salmon was also nice, although looking at the price tag I would expect more salmon or at least a bigger cut served on top of the bread.

English Breakfast - IDR 60K

Actually I don't know just what styles they provide for the eggs since the waiter didn't ask me and my friends how we want the eggs to be cooked. Considerably we would go for fried eggs since we already had the poach and the scrambled ones on the other dishes. So for this one they gave us poached eggs again. They were good, nevertheless, and I did taste some vinegar which I think was so good on the eggs. The bread was good. The hashbrown was delicious. I loved the fried mushrooms and the sausages, I think they were nicely done. The baked beans was okay, nothing special about that. Overall I think this one is a more worthy order for your breakfast or brunch.

Aglio Olio Spicy Italian - IDR 55K

Recently I am becoming more fond of aglio olio style served pasta compared to other style of pasta. This one might be my fourth aglio olio pasta in the last two weeks. I sure do love the heat from that Spicy Italian sauce. Yes, it's pretty spicy but at the same time it was also the factor that kept me taking another bite by bite. For this one we chose shrimps for the topping and just look at how generous they were given in the dish! The pasta was great, cooked perfectly, a nice level of al dente, and I do love how it's not that oily too.

Cappuccino & Piccolo - IDR 35K each

I always opted for cappuccino when it comes for ordering a cup of coffee. Been hearing great stuff about Giyanti I really couldn't wait to see if the barista at Monkey Tail could done justice to those wonderful coffee beans. I was served a cup of beautiful cappuccino. I would say beautiful, firstly because the cup itself is gorgeous, it's custom made and certainly beautiful. I had to surpress my deep desire to bring that cup home, LOL. The second was the intriguing aroma from the coffee. It's breathtaking, really. Simply put it this way, the best cappuccino I've ever tasted so far. Actually, I've never been to the actual Giyanti outlet in Menteng. But after that sip, I would really really wanna go there. The cappuccino tasted fantastic, a bit strong yet smooth in the aftertaste, also I can taste some chocolate notes in the end. If you need stronger boost of coffee, opt for Piccolo.
By far, this is really great. A must come destination if you're looking for great coffee in Pantai Indah Kapuk.

Overall conclusion: By far, Monkey Tail Cafe has succeeded in delivering a nice dining experience. I sure do love the food, and absolutely the coffee. I really do hope more success and more interesting menus will come in the future. Please keep serving those spectacular coffee too.
