Sedap Wangi Bakery & Restaurant

This month is all about the World Cup right?
I feel the hype too, and of course watching the football match together with friends is something I frequently do in this month.
Me and my friends have a favourite spot to watch football. It is in Tebet. So later that day I went there with a friend to our usual spot. And you know how the weather could be so unpredictable. It rained on the way. As we were going with motorcycle, we decided to pulled over to a nearby restaurant, which was Sedap Wangi.

It is located at Jl. KH. Abdullah Syafei, just beside Dunkin Donuts.
So this was a bakery and a restaurant altogether. The bakery is at the first floor, while the restaurant is at the second floor.

The restaurant was not crowded. As far as I see we were the only customers there. It's  a lot spacious in the second floor, divided into several rooms.
The waiters were quite a lot. The place is clean, the lighting were dimmed. It's quite comfortable actually.

Since I have eaten before, I decided not to order too much, and so did my friend. I mean, we were just waiting for the rain to stop. But anyway, this restaurant had a quite varieties of menus. Chicken, beef, seafood, noodles, soup, soto, and vegetables. They even served steak.

My friend and I both order a chicken menu. Mine was Ayam Kalasan Bakar (Dada) & Nasi - Rp. 27.000. There is another option with the chicken thigh, for Rp. 26.000. The chicken was quite big. I love the tender meat. It's roasted well. Not over-cooked, which was great. The sweet soy sauce added a delicious flavor, since it is also incorporated with garlic. There was also a small plate of sambal given. It was quite spicy and a very good choice to dipped that chicken meat in. Overall it was a very tasty chicken dish.

My friend ordered Ayam Rica-rica Bakar (Dada) & Nasi - Rp. 27.000. This one also had an option with th chicken thigh for Rp. 26.000. The dish was also good. The rica-rica seasoning was excellent. Not too spicy, but very savory. The chicken was cooked to perfection also.

We ordered up the Cah Kangkung - Rp. 15.000. Usually I would love a stir-fried kale, but this one to be frank it's a bit plain for my palette. It seemed to be only cooked with garlic and maybe a bit of salt. I would prefer they used shrimp paste, or terasi in Indonesia. The flavors needed to be elevated a bit more. Although I have to say the kale was fresh. But it needed better seasoning.

The Tempe & Tahu Goreng - each Rp. 5.000 seemed to be having similar problems as the stir-fried kale. They needed more salt. Tasted a bit plain for me.

 Es Teh Manis

And last we ordered Es Teh Manis - Rp. 7.000 for our drinks. It was sweet and the tea aroma is good. I like how they use liquid sugar, because it was easier to stir.

Overall conclusion, for a stop-by dinner it was good. At least the chicken menus that we ordered as the main event weren't disappointing. The place is nice, comfortable and pretty quiet too. So it's fun to hang out and have a talk with friends.
Prices are quite moderate, and pretty affordable.
I would like to stop by again anytime soon before going to my favourite football watching spot. Pretty curious about their bakery too.
