It was a bright sunny Saturday noon when I strolled around quite far from home. Considering I lived at the southern part of Jakarta and had to go to the northern side, and let me tell you it's not a short trip.
I was feeling a bit feverish due to the inconsistent weather, but since this is a kind of foodtasting event I wouldn't want to miss in the world, I hustle up, pack my gear and went to this lovely French-styled cuisine restaurant, La Creperie.

Canton Paradise

Hi Eaters.

This time I'm going to write another one of Boga Group's restaurants again. Well, as I might have mentioned so many times, Boga never fails to deliver me good food in any of its line of restaurants.
As so that day I was invited to the latest member to join the family of Boga Group, called Canton Paradise. 

Cake-A-Boo

Hi Eaters.

Actually this is one review I've kept on postponing to write due to the hectic schedule I'm facing lately. I've been wanting to write about this cake shop ever since my visit, which could be counted about almost a month ago.
Anyway, this cake shop, as you might know, is currently the hippest place for Jakarta people to get some cakes. The name of the cake shop is Cake-A-Boo.

[Zomato MeetUp] Kopikina

Hi Eaters.

I remembered my first Zomato MeetUp. It was at a coffee roastery in Senopati. I recall that was also (maybe) the first ever Zomato MeetUp held. And yet yesterday I was invited to another Zomato MeetUp, called the End Of The Year MeetUp, marking the last Zomato MeetUp in the year 2014. Personally, it is a privilege and a great honor to be invited to the first and last Zomato MeetUp in 2014.
And also as a coincidence the last MeetUp in 2014 took place in another coffee roastery, called Kopikina.

[Openrice Gathering] Paradise Inn Mall Puri Indah

Hi Eaters.

Boga Group is one of the F&B companies in Jakarta which has a line of exquisite restaurants. As you might have known, Boga's restaurants have always been my favourite dining spots. Some of them are actually topping my list of favourite restaurants. Almost all of Boga's restaurants have got my visit, except for one which I visited last Thursday, Paradise Inn.

[Openrice Gathering] Markas i-Eat

Hi Eaters.

It was a rainy Friday afternoon when I went to this place. Markas i-Eat was the name. And I went here being invited by Openrice Indonesia for another gathering.
Well every Fridays like this is always something I am looking forward to, besides the fact that it is also the last day of the week to work.

[Indonesian Food Blogger Event] Kemang Steak, Pantai Indah Kapuk

It was quite a hot sunny day when I went to Kemang Steak at Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta. It's my second invitation from Indonesian Food Blogger to attend their blogger gathering event. Again as I may say, this is one event I've marked in my calendar: not to be missed. I'm loving the opportunity to meet other passionate bloggers who share the same love for food.
It was kinda hectic that day due to the many invites who came to this event. But yet we found ourselves to be blending in joy and also sharing the excitement to try out the foods.

House Of Pasta Bar

Hi Eaters.

Late night dinner search brought me to this restaurant. As always in Sundays I happened to be around Kelapa Gading, exploring the vast culinary area and hundreds of restaurants available here.
I was strolling around with a friend who happened to be craving for pasta. And you know there is one big pasta restaurant located in Kelapa Gading which was btw our first intended location until we saw this restaurant on our way to make a U-turn and decided to stop-by. The restaurant is called House of Pasta Bar.

Soup Restaurant Senayan City

Hi Eaters.

Chinese food is one cuisine I tend to enjoy in times when I need comfort food. Sure, some may go to desserts, some would get something sweet, but I will go for something delicious. And chinese food with its marvelous usage of herbs and spices are just an endulgement for me.
In Jakarta, Chinese restaurants are just so abundant. You can't go to a part of this town without finding a Chinese restaurant there. My visit that day was to a newly opened outlet of an already reknown Chinese restaurant, the Soup Restaurant.

[Zomato Foodie Meetup] Cranky Crab

As you might know, Kelapa Gading is a place I'm familiar about. In this region, there are like hundreds of restaurants and places to eat. Some new restaurants started to emerge in this region and surely bring delightment for me who constantly wander this area on weekends.
One of such restaurant is the newly-open Cranky Crab which is located in the same building as the Samudra Rasa Seafood restaurant. Apparently both of them are under the same management. But to differ them, Cranky Crab segmented mostly on young people, while Samudra Rasa aimed more to families.

[Indonesian Food Blogger Event] Ten Ten: New Taste, New Treats!

I was invited by Indonesian Food Blogger (IdFB) to taste some new menus from Ten Ten, one of the few restaurants listed to be my favourite. This wasn't my first visit actually, and I have done quite a lot of re-visit here simply just because I loved the food.

We are beginning to enter the rainy season, right? Usually I love the rainy season, not including the flood though. Well since Jakarta tends to get pretty hot the last couple of months, it's a delight to get some breeze air once in a while.
But last Sunday (16/11) I really hoped it won't rain all day. Why? Because I got invited by Openrice Indonesia to attend the cooking demo at the Picnic Over Tribeca event.

Munchies Dine & Bar

How to spend a Saturday night if you can't spend it with a lover, then spend it with foodies. Agree?
Last Saturday night, me and fellow foodies went to my favourite mall, Kota Kasablanka. I've always loved it there. And our destination was to hang out in the hippest food section, the Food Society, and also at the hippest restaurant, Munchies Dine & Bar.

Long ago before I ever had any bite of Italian genuine pizza, there was one place I recall that introduced me to that Italian delicacy. Although they don't really served pizza with genuine Italian flavor (more to the American-flavored pizza) but here is where I first ever took a bite of an Italian dish called pizza.
It was many many years ago, and that day I went back to this restaurant to have a nostalgic moment of my first time ever trying pizza at Pizza Hut.

Here I am back to Chicken Story at La Piazza. Well I've mentioned in my previous review that I like to eat here especially when there is a big football match. Well, that Sunday it was the Manchester derby, and that is my main reason to come here besides of the food.

Sip Ha Thai BBQ & Bistro

I would like to introduce you to Sip Hai Thai BBQ & Bistro, the newly open Thai restaurant in Kelapa Gading. Located near the Tiberias church, this two-storey restaurant added excitement since I am constantly seeking culinary experiences in this particular region of Jakarta. And Sip Ha for my consideration acts nicely as an alternative to the boredom I felt because of the overflowing Korean restaurants in town.

Well, that day I was just finished having dinner at Pepper Lunch, and on my way home I happened to be passing this restaurant. Driven by curiosity, I decided to make a stop by.

If there is one restaurant from the Boga Group chains that I really really loved, it has to be Pepper Lunch. I just like the whole concept of seasoning my own dish to my desire. Well it is countless times that I have done a revisit to Pepper Lunch, and that sunny Sunday I decided to (again) sizzle my taste buds at this restaurant again.

Talking about dessert, well I think ice creams are just everyone's favourite, right? I mean, it's like an indulgement especially for sweet tooth lovers. But unfortunately ice creams, even though it's made from milk, can't be said to be healthy if consumed not in a proper amount. That's why people nowadays tend to make the switch to yoghurt. What if there are ice creams which are healthy and also yummy?

Momi & Toy's New Menus Launching

If you're a sweet tooth lover, then you must know a kind of food called crepes. Nowadays, not only sweet crepes can be find, but also savory ones. This thin pancake which originated from France has become a worldwide delicacy. Many restaurants, not only those of French, have listed crepes on their choice of desserts. But also you will find certain places that specified themselves only to sell these wonderful treats.
One of those places just launched their new collection of sweet and savory crepes. Say hello to the new crepes from Momi and Toy's Creperie.

[Bandung Trip] Warung Sangrai

As I mentioned in my review of Mamak Kitchen, I will be also writing about Warung Sangrai, which happened to be under the same management as Mamak Kitchen. Located not far from Mamak Kitchen, it seemed that both restaurants was separated by the Heritage factory outlet in the middle.

This restaurant was the first to start my Bandung trip with Openrice crews and also fellow Openricers from #myfoodTiramisu. I remembered all along the way to Bandung I was pretty hungry. Since all of us left early in the morning to avoid heavy traffic, I didn't have the chance to get breakfast.
Well at this first stop, I got the chance to meet some of fellow Openricers and also foodbloggers from Bandung. Okay, without further delay, let me tell you about my culinary journey at Mamak Kitchen.

Chicken Story

Chicken Story at La Piazza has always been my favourite spot everytime there is a "Nonton Bareng" event or if there is my favourite band performing at the atrium. Why? Because Chicken Story has an outdoor dining area which enable me to watch what's going on at the atrium. And that night, my favourite football club's match was being aired on that big giant screen on the atrium. One of the reasons I went to Chicken Story, besides for the food, lol.

Hi Eaters.

This is another wonderful restaurant I've got to visit on my Bandung trip with Openrice crews and of course fellow Openricers from #myfoodTiramisu. So as you know Indonesia is now currently being invaded by Korean Wave. Korean culture has grown so popular in this country, affecting lifestyles, fashion, and now even food. A lot of Korean restaurant has opened in Indonesia and Korean food has become somewhat a trend in the social community.
One of such Korean restaurant I happened to have the chance to visit in Bandung was Donwoori.

Jea's Cafe

Hi Eaters.

So I happened to find this restaurant by accident. 
So that Friday night, my girlfriend asked me to accompany her to a beauty salon. I, myself, am a guy who actually gets pretty bored of waiting if I don't have anything to do. But my girlfriend seemed to know this specific character of mine, so she told me that I can wait at the restaurant next to the salon while she is having her treatment.
Well, in that case then it's no problem for me. I'll just wait while chewing at Jea's Cafe.

[Bandung Trip] Eastern Restaurant

Hi Eaters.

Any fans of dimsum here? If anyone ask me that question, I would be the first to raise my hand. Dimsum/Yamcha is one of the ultimate Chinese delicacies. I've never met anyone in my life who dislikes dimsum. Surely I hope you guys love it too.
Anyway, still at Bandung with the Openricers and the team of #myfoodtiramisu, we stopped by at one of Bandung's best dimsum and Chinese restaurant, the Eastern Restaurant.

The Bailey's & Chloe

Hectic at work is something that can cause stress. I happened to experienced it this week. Starting from Monday it was deadline all the way. Stressing is not a kind of feeling I want to keep for long, and my comfort to release all that tension has always been good food.
During a chat over lunch hour, my friend ask me to come this nice cute restaurant near where she lived. It's called The Bailey's and Chloe.

Do you know what will happen if two good chefs collaborate together in opening a restaurant? You can tell that there will be exquisites dishes available to try. What makes it more wonderful if you know that these two chefs are husband and wife. Cooking with love certainly is the guarantee of an astonishing dish.
But wait a minute, it's not easy to find these certain circumstances right? Lucky for the people of Bandung, you guys can easily find it at Rumah Lezat Simplisio.

Tendon Tenya

One of Japanese famous dish and truly has been a signature among Japanese dishes is Tempura. I remembered watching one episode of the US Masterchef and it is also said by the legendary chef, Gordon Ramsay, that Tempura might seemed simple but it took finesse and skills to make an excellent Tempura dish. Cooked it wrong then it can either be too overcooked or undercooked.
Speaking about Tempura, have you ever heard of Tendon? Tendon is Tempura on top of a bowl of rice. Last weekend I got the opportunity to be invited to try some of these special Tendons at Tendon Tenya.

Indonesian cuisines are well-known for its use of many herbs and spices which are incorporated inside the dish. Making the dish not only delicious but also rich and vibrant in colors and textures.

In Indonesia there is one brand that has been a trademark for juices. For decades, it has specialized in serving fresh and healthy juices. And now it has about 40 variants of healthy juices to order. Quite plenty, right?
The name of the brand, and the restaurant is MM Juice.

So as a foodblogger, you might know sometimes I share my writings in other websites. The sole purpose is to be a part of another big community, and to share and also to be shared dining experiences.
One of that particular site where I usually share my dining experiences is Zomato.

Woon Tung Kee

Do you like chicken?
Well, this particular protein is definitely one of the easiest to find, right? Fast food joints, fine dinings, food stands, up until the small "warung makan", most likely have poultry served in their menus. Easy to cook and can be blend with so many other components, make chicken to be the most popular kind of protein.
Speaking about the way of cooking chicken, I am a big fan of Chinese cookings. Mainly because the wide variants of herbs and ingredients used to cook the chicken. And indeed I was so lucky to have tried one of that stunning Chinese style cooked chicken here, at Woon Tung Kee.

Tairyo Japanese Restaurant

Hi Eaters.

Again, it's dinner date time with my fellow foodies. We hang-out quite often recently, and it's been such great moments spending time with them.
For this occasion, we chose a place quite strategic, located in the heart of Jakarta, in which we thought that there would be so sooo many good places to eat could be found. Grand Indonesia Shopping Town (GIST) was our destination. This place has got tons of cool spots to eat. And for that day we chose a restaurant which is at Level 5 of GIST, the coolest level with a line of happening restaurants. The restaurant we chose was a Japanese cuisine restaurant, Tairyo.

19th Avenue

Hi Eaters.

West Jakarta maybe isn't as hip as Pantai Indah Kapuk, or South Jakarta in particular when it comes about good and hip spots for dining. You will find a lot of malls and shopping centers here, but to find a great spot with a line of nice restaurants wouldn't be as easy as if you go to Pantai Indah Kapuk, or Senopati.
Having to work at an office located in West Jakarta, it sure helps to know that there is one cool spot to hang out after work and get a decent meal. I'm talking about 19th Avenue.

Rooster

Hi Eaters.

Talking about roasted chicken, you might be familiar with one brand that seemed to be dominating when it comes to the dish. And yet, apparently, I found another spot that served a somewhat similar dish.
I came there last Sunday with a friend. He asked me to come along to give a comparison to the food. And so, off we went to this restaurant, Rooster.

Coldstone Creamery Mall Kelapa Gading

Hi Eaters.

Lately it's been steaming hot in Jakarta, right? During the day, it really felt like when you're near a burning fire, lol. Well, maybe I'm just exaggerating but the hot weather sure does brought out some sweat from the body.
I found there's a way to overcome that heat. Let's think of something cold, something refreshing. How about ice cream then?
And my favourite spot for ice cream has got to be Coldstone Creamery.

Bakmi Ayam Karet Krekot

Hi Eaters.

Still on the edition of "delicious street foods" from #designerdoyanmakan, here I would like to share my dining experience about a unique dish.
So this all started out as I was invited to try this dish. The dish was "bakmi karet". You might wonder what is "bakmi karet"? So this is a kind of noodle with chewy texture, most likely resembling rubber, with a much bigger size than the regular noodles.
I found myself again that morning, roaming the streets of Jakarta, to have a bite of this unique noodles at Bakmi Ayam Karet Krekot.

Pondok Lesehan Gayatri

Hi Eaters.

Keeping my words on writing about street foods, I came across this particular "warung makan". Well, it accidentally happened when I was visiting friends. Apparently he knows a lot of good "warung makan" and often took me to several of them. I'm still waiting for inputs from you guys, though. Do inform me about a great "warung makan" and I'll make sure to have a stop-by then.
Back to the review. Well for this review, I did the same mistake again (gosh, how did I ever do that?!). I, once again, forgot to bring my camera. So I have to apologize (again) for the low quality image. Noted that this will be the last time I did this fatal error.
So without further a due, I'm going to tell you about my culinary journey at Pondok Lesehan Gayatri.

Re.juve

Hi Eaters.

Healthy lifestyle has been a concern in today's generation. A lot of healthy-guaranteed products (or so they claimed to be) are out on the market, and even restaurants and eateries also have begin to show their concerns regarding healthy food.
But when I talk about healthy food, I like something that came from nature. Something like fruits and vegetables. Maybe juices.
And it's exciting to know that there is a new spot to get a really healthy juice. The new spot is called Re.juve.

Ropita ACI Gading

Hi Eaters.

Have you ever felt hungry when it's late midnight? Unless you're always prepared and stocked a bunch of snacks in the house, well going for a stroll looking for a place to eat might be an alternative (unless you want to ignore that hunger).
This happened to me when I was sleeping over at a friend's house. Yeah, it was weekeend and we boys like to stay late and watch football. The game had ended about an hour after midnight and I was quite hungry. I'm not the type of guy who would ignore rumbling stomach.
But anyway, my friend's house is located at Kelapa Gading, and at that time he suggested me to get a light meal at Ropita ACI Gading.

Solaria La Piazza

Hi Eaters.

That Sunday night, me and my friends went out to the movies. We were going to watch a movie which starred our favourite old action movie actors. Yeah, I'm sure you know what movie I'm talking about.
Well, our checkpoint to see the movie was La Piazza. And once we've done buying the movie tickets, apparently the movie starts within the next hour. So we thought to get dinner in a nearby restaurant. Our choice was Solaria.

Pepper Lunch Kota Kasablanka

Last Friday I got to hang out with some of my foodie friends. Yeaayyy! 
This is just something that I love to do. 
We decided to hang out in my favourite spot, Mall Kota Kasablanka. For our hang out spot, we chose Pepper Lunch.

Crematology Coffee Roasters

Hi Eaters.

I've been hearing a lot about this place and actually I had some plans to come visit it. And so luckily Zomato invited me to this place for a foodie meet up.
Just couldn't believe I was invited, and so happy since I will be meeting so many people with the same interest and could have a chat with them over a cup of coffee.
Super thanks also to Uber Jakarta for providing the transportation needed to get to the Foodie Meetup. Super excited.

Bukit Bintang Resto

Last Sunday was our nation's independence day. And also that day a friend of mine asked me if I want to go and hang out with her. Well we then searched for a nearby restaurant which we haven't visited before. And we've finally decided on a restaurant called Bukit Bintang Resto.
