Lately I've been writing so much about Asian cuisines. And most of them are Korean cuisines.
Well, Korean restaurants are quite plenty in Jakarta, but most of them serve Korean BBQ, right? But this particular Korean restaurant which I visited the other day had a different concept. It also serves affordable Korean street foods. I was pretty anxious hearing this.
So without further delay, let me tell you about my exciting visit to Seigo Dakgalbi.
Seigo Dakgalbi is located at Tebet Green Mall. It occupies quite a large space in the UG floor. The concept of the interior is somewhat modern-casual. The main element that dominated the interior is wood. Cheerful colors were also incorporated in the chair's cushions and the hanging paper lanters. There are also numerous glass windows occupying almost half of the space, so when you come there at night you can see the scenery of the busy street and city lights. It's really cozy inside and certainly comfortable. Here I give you some of the interior pictures I took that day.
The menus in Seigo Dakgalbi are all halal, they don't contain pork, so you don't have to worry or have any concerns to order your favourite Korean food here. Also, the flavors have been adjusted to the Indonesian palate, so you might find the taste to be friendly here.
Now let's check out some of the foods I tried.
Dakgalbi Original Regular - Rp. 65.500
Dakgalbi Original Large - Rp. 83.500
Dakgalbi Seafood Regular - Rp. 82.500
Dakgalbi Seafood Large - Rp. 117.500The regular portion could fit for 2-3 persons, while the large could fit for 4-5 persons. So don't be surprised by the price tag because yes this is a sharing menu, so it's quite worth it.
The one I tried was the Dakgalbi Original which uses chicken and vegetables. The seafood version has an addition of prawn and squid.
When you order the Dakgalbi, the staff will cook it for you on the grill which is available on each table. You are not allowed to cook the Dakgalbi by yourself because it is not cooked correctly there will be raw ingridients left uncooked. So it's best just let the staff or the chef cook it for you. The cooking process itself takes about 7 minutes.
Besides those menus I reviewed earlier, don't forget to try some of the Korean street foods served in Seigo Dakgalbi. I had the chance to tried some of them.
It's so sweet tooth! I am loving this dessert. The shaved-ice was put at the bottom of the glass, so you might find this dessert a bit awkward because you didn't see the shaved-ice. But trust me, it's there. This is so recommended. Do order this if you ever go to Seigo. I'm loving it and I bet you will too.
Overall conclusion, this was a very incredible dining experience for me.
A great place, with superb service and wonderful food. There's nothing else to say other than this restaurant offers a complete satisfying dining experience.
Finding a Korean restaurant sertificated halal is like a bonus. And that's what you'll get here.
Prices are fair. Once you've tried the food you'll find that you've paid a good deal of money for good food.
So Korean food lovers, why don't you come and have a taste of the food at Seigo Dakgalbi? You might enjoy it. I know I have.
Keep on chewing!
