Ikuze Japanese Food Bazaar

Helo Eaters,

This is my second visit to Ikuze Japanese Food Bazaar. My first one, as I recall, ended up with a happy tummy. So yesterday I went back to this restaurant for another dining experience.

As you might have read from my previous review about this restaurant, it has a number of stations which serves different types of food. You can find out just what they are in my previous review, so I'm not gonna describe them here.

The interior still catched my eyes. I'm just loving the whole woody interior they had here. It felt so warm. And the ornament displays just really added the beauty of the interior. I felt like I'm in a Japanese flea market, especially with the Japanese songs playing in the background. Really comfortable.

For this visit, I came with a friend. We haven't had a chit-chat for a long time, and I took him here. He really liked the ambience too, so whoever the interior designer, you've done a great job. Well, back with the food, at our visit we decided to tried Ikuze's Super Bento - IDR 299K nett for two.
Super Bento

There it was in front of us, a bento box filled with varieties of Japanese delicacies. There were Chicken Teriyaki, Coleslaw Salad, Sushi, Sashimi, Tempura Moriawase, Fruit Salad, and Mini Shoyu Ramen. Not to mention I also got a bowl of Yakimeshi and Cawan Mushi.
What a feast in one bento menu.
So I'm gonna describe them one by one. Let's start with the appetizer.
Coleslaw Salad
 Coleslaw Salad
So I got two appetizer. The first one is Coleslaw Salad. Basically this is a salad made of cabbage, red cabbage and lettuce with mayonnaise dressing. The vegetables were good, and the level of acidity of the mayonnaise is quite decent. Not too sour. And there's a bit of spiciness in the mayonnaise dressing. Really good.
Chawanmushi
 Chawanmushi
Next appetizer was the Chawanmushi. It's a traditional Japanese egg custard. The egg was tender, and the texture was moist. It had seaweed, mushroom, shrimp and beef fillings inside. The overall taste was so savory and delicious. I added up some soy sauce to elevate the flavors and it blew me away. Tasty!
Sushi and Sashimi
 Sushi and Sashimi
For the Sushi I got what I thought was Kani Tobikko Roll. Excuse me if I'm mistaken with the sushi name. For me the sushi was alright. Nothing special about it. The rice I think was poorly seasoned and should have been more moist and fluffier. The softshell is okay, and also the cucumber. Taste alright for me, could have been better.
The sashimi were tuna and salmon. They tasted good. I love how the fish meat were so juicy in my mouth.
Tempura Moriawase
 Tempura Moriawase
Tempura Moriawase means the chef's selection of tempuras. For mine, I got Kani and Enoki. The batter was good. It was seasoned perfectly, and went really well if I dipped it in soy sauce. The kani and enoki was great. I love how the tender texture of the kani and enoki combined well with the crunchy texture of the batter in every single bite. Awesome.
Mini Shoyu Ramen
 Mini Shoyu Ramen
Even though it was served in a small portion, I just couldn't stop munching the Mini Shoyu Ramen. I love the noodle soup. For me it was the right kind of level of savoriness. The noodle also comes with tender texture and flavor. And the filling was rich too. I'd have one more bowl if there were any.
Yakimeshi
 Yakimeshi
Yakimeshi is a Japanese style fried rice. The use of salt and soy sauce were not too many, so the rice would tasted more sweet than it is savory. The garnishes were mostly vegetables, like carrots and beans. Since I like it to be a bit salty, I added a bit of soy sauce to made it more tastier to my palette.
Chicken Teriyaki
 Chicken Teriyaki
The Chicken Teriyaki came up with tender chicken meat and a right saltiness for the teriyaki sauce. It was good in my opinion. I love how the meat was juicy enough and it sort of melted in my mouth with every bite. Fantastic.
Fruit Salad
 Fruit Salad
For the dessert I got Fruit Salad. It consist of melon, watermelon, strawberries, and jelly. The only thing I could eat were the fruits. I couldn't eat the jelly because it had an aroma of chives in it. Maybe the one who prepared the jelly forgot to washed the hands after cutting out some chives.
Cold Ocha
 Cold Ocha
For the beverage I ordered Cold Ocha - IDR 14K. I love the ocha. It has a strong tea flavor. I find the bitterness of the tea to be excellent. Some people probably would not like tea that's too bitter, but I find it good. And it's refillable also.

Overall conclusion, still loving the place, the food, and the service. It might take some time for me to get over the chive-scented jelly, but it won't change the fact that once again I left the restaurant with a happy tummy.
The price may come a bit pricey, but overall I think it's so worth it with the flavors.
Did I mention they had like more than a hundred menus available? Gotta be back again to try other menus right? Maybe you can come along next time.

Keep on chewing!
